A bit about Darkndreamy

Over the years I have played a few video games, I own a PS2 and a Gamecube, and I usually end up playing a game a few months then get stuck or bored. I have even forked out the money on a couple of game helper guides to get me through the parts I was stuck on and still couldn’t figure it out! A time or two I have even been tempted to take my game to a neighbor with an 8 yr old who could figure out video games in a blink of an eye and maneuver around like a pro! Very frustrating!

A co-worker introduced me to an online game you play on your computer called Second Life. An adult 3D virtual world where the users can socialize by making an avatar and then role play, meet people, build things, shop or go to a dance club. Sounds like real life hmmm? It is, only in a virtual community, with all the drama of real life. I played it for a little over a year, but ended up more stressed out at times than a full day at work!

Then my boyfriend at the time, now dear husband, introduced me to World of Warcraft. I was and still am fascinated with the colors, the graphics, really the whole concept of the game! I learned it is part of a group of games referred to as an MMORPG – Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. And boy, massive it is! I have now been playing for over a year and still cannot believe the amount of content there is. You level a character (toon) to lvl 80 by completing quests, and as you do this you get new gear to wear that gives you more power, armor and overall stats. Then there are many achievements to accomplish such as learning a certain number of cooking recipes and catching so many fish, to only name a tiny few.

This game is never ending, with so many things to do and earn, and can chat with other RL people that play by typing in open chat or verbally using “vent”. You can play by yourself or in groups. There is a story line you follow while doing quests, but honestly I have to admit I don’t really keep up with that. I just go kill what it tells me to so I can complete it. LOL
