It is finally here! The day we, the Old School Crew get to brave the old world instances, but since we will be busy killing and looting we have hired a professional storyteller to narrate our adventures. We have just started out in the world of Azeroth and we don't have a lot of gold to pay him, so as they say you get what you pay for. Regardless, on with the story. Let these long forgotten challenges be reborn!
The warrior stands tall in front of his party, staring down the enemies ahead. The sweltering heat of Rage Fire Chasm, only adds to the growing excitement felt by the four brave adventures about to ... wait a minute! Four! There are supposed to be five! Out of breath and fumbling through his bags, the priest runs up behind the rest of the party. "Sorry guys I was disenchanting items in the guild bank." he said looking around at the shaking heads of his party members. "but, I have enchants for everyone" he says smiling. The mood changes as he pulls his enchanting rod from his backpack and they all get in line. They move on smiling as the faint glow of dust, mixed with the magic from the rod, shows their armor and weapons have been improved.
After the brief distraction, the five anxious, excited, and freshly enchanted adventures now stand at the entrance to the fiery chasm awaiting the warrior's starting charge. Like a flash of hoofed lightning the warrior moves towards the armored worms striking the first one cleanly in the skull and drawing the attention of a second one. The priest let's his healing magic fly to counter the damage taken by the warrior with an occasional protective shield to allow the healing to do its work more efficiently. During this exchange between healer and tank bullets start to fly from the hunter's obnoxiously loud gun, the rogue comes out of hiding, thrusting her daggers and the shaman controls the forces of nature causing his own type of destruction.
The inhabitants of the chasm posed little challenge for this group as they made their way leaving a trail of corpses and rubble. The treasure they have found has only increased their strength and the more they work together they only become more efficient. Even facing the massive demon deep in the fiery pit posed little challenge. After finishing off the last living being and collecting the final treasures, the group's leader informed them that he heard that someone in The Crossroads needed help and they were offering great rewards to anyone who could take care of the menaces that reside within the mysterious caverns nearby. Before heading to the Barrens they decided to go back into the chasm to find a piece of treasure that was rumored to be inside and to polish up their skills in preparation for the challenge that lies ahead.
Stay tuned for more adventures from the Old School Crew as they continue to search for treasure and glory in the world of Azeroth. Until
next time have fun!

Addicted to Podcasts
About a year ago, my dear husband and WoW addict introduced me to Podcasts. For some reason I really couldn’t get into them. My DH of course listens to them every chance he gets, and I would just shake my head and smile, wondering how on earth he could find them so interesting.
Well that has all changed… introducing the Podcast “Casually Hard-Core”! Summing that show in one word, hard to do but ok I will go for it... AWESOME!
The Pod-cast has 4 speakers; the one that starts the show and runs the buttons when he remembers where they are is Gnomewise. His dear wife Ialite, and their friend’s Gwenora & Grail fill in the rest of the gang. Oh and of course don’t forget Gnomewise & Ialite’s young son Nemisis who pops his head in every once in awhile when he manages to escape the babysitter.
If you want to listen to a group of fun people that love to play World of Warcraft, have bunches of in game content information, with lot’s of humor, sharp wit and still manage to have a real life, this is the Podcast for you!
You can download their podcasts to your iPod from iTunes or you can go to their website at www.wcradio.com/shows/4-casually-hardcore
Happy Listening!

Old School Project: The Beginning
The other day my wife and I were talking with some friends in vent and the conversation turned to "the old days of WoW." We talked about how things were more challenging and how Blizzard shouldn't have changed this or that. I'll spare you the details of the discussion, let's just say that we missed the days when being max level meant something and it took work to get there.
At different points of the conversation we realized that some of us hadn't had the pleasure of experiencing many of the things that players now days just take for granted. The Deadmines, Wailing Caverns and all of those lower level instances had become no more than places to run our low level friends and alts through. It also came to light that of those in the vent channel only two of us had experienced any of the Pre-BC instances at the appropriate levels. At that point the idea was already in the air and then finally it was said. "We should make alts and do the old instances at level".
After that we decided which five people would participate, what classes we would all play, and what professions we would all do. We now had a 5-man group and started leveling to level 12 so we could start RFC. The group is as follows:
Masakistic - Warrior - Mining/Blacksmithing
Oldskoolkilr - Rogue - Skinning/Leatherworking
Octun - Hunter - Mining/Engineering
Osremmy - Shaman - Herbalism/Alchemy
Healaggrodie - Priest - Tailoring/Enchanting
Now as we were preparing and leveling these toons we were discussing the rules of this "project." We decided that we would follow pre-bc rules and such as best we could. Some of the rules are as follows and are subject to changes we go along.
- If it wasn't in original WoW we don't use it. (of course there are some changes we can't avoid but as close as we can)
- No Blood Elves and that means no paladins and no going to Eversong Woods, no Ghostlands, etc...
- Professions can't go over 300
- No help from outside toons (the gold you make is what you have to use)
- Crafted items and enchants only come from inside the group
- Leveling is limited to the minimum levels for each instance and everyone must stay as close to everyone's level as possible.
As you can see it is not going to be the usual alt leveling experience and that is the point. We want those who haven't experienced Pre-BC WoW to get the chance. I will update on this blog as we go so people who want to follow along can do so.
Until next time, have fun and thanks for reading!
